Why not? Because being immersed in negative feelings is bad for your immune system. It increases your pain levels. It effects your quality of life. It pushes people away from you.
Because one of the things I would recommend is to stay away from negative people if you are trying to bring more positive vibes into your life. You don't want to be one of those people that others avoid.
You want to practice having a positive attitude and cultivate the use of positives as much as possible.
So, for instance, if you are having a bad day.... think of it as challenging or interesting. An interesting day can make for a good story later. A challenging day is full of opportunity.
Did you know the Chinese character for conflict is the same as Opportunity? Right, because when your life is smooth and straight with no road bumps, you don't have to do anything new. There's no need to learn lessons. It is those times when you are most challenged that you find the most growth, the most self discovery, the most enlightening. When you look back on the difficult times, you realize that is when you experienced life changing events that made you stronger, wiser, more selective, a better self-advocate.
It's takes work because we normally think more about negative things. Our brains our wired to look for danger, to look for problems. If we didn't, we wouldn't take steps to increase our safety.
So it takes a little more effort to wear the positive lens and look for opportunities and discover that silver lining.
it takes more work to try new things, to take risks, and to reach out to people. But that is when we shine. That is when we grow and increase our circle of love and friendship.
Let yourself shine!
